While it isn’t necessary for a listener to The Classical Mind to read the books in advance, some of our listeners choose to do so. To facilitate that, we have posted our entire season 1 reading list, starting with the first main episode of the season (releasing in October).
We have also provided links. There are two things to note. First, you do not need to buy the exact edition we have linked to. Many of these books are in the public domain and can be obtained for free online. We have linked to purchasable physical editions, usually prioritizing affordability. You can also find many of these books at your local library. Second, none of these links are to Amazon, nor are they affiliate links. We have linked directly to publishers or to bookshop.org, a site which allows you to support local bookstores while shopping online.
Finally, a few months just say ‘TBD.’ This is either because we are in the process of arranging a guest for the month (which affects what book we will read) or we are letting our supporters on Substack pick the book for that month. If you are interested in supporting us, click the button below.
